It has been a very busy week at work and I did not have much opportunity to edit the huge stack of images from my last trip to Passieflorahoeve. Nevertheless I managed to push two new flower images. Here is the artwork I published week 35.
First the eastern purple coneflower macro photography image which I really like because the flower is razor sharp and the background nicely blurred out. I had seen this type of flowers before and really wanted to make a nice photo of them because I like the spikes in the center of the flower contrasting with the softness of the petals.
For the second image I started out using my regular editing workflow for this type of photograph, but in the end decided to go all out, do some heavy processing and turn it into some digital art that resembles abstract work. The petals of this dahlia reminded me of flames and the colors were already quite close. The result definately catches the eye with all these warm red, orange and yellow colors! Perhaps it can bring a bit of warmth into your livingroom in the cold months up ahead.
Please feel free to check out the artwork in my gallery here or visit the shops that have been authorized to sell prints of my work: Fine Art America and Werk aan de Muur. For more information please visit the shop page here.
